A verse in Sanskrit states: “Only a fourth part of knowledge does one gather from a teacher, a quarter the student acquires by self-effort, another quarter he learns from his co-students, and the final quarter accrues in course of time making him fully knowledgeable.”

This verse beautifully underlines the fact that knowledge is not shaped by the teacher alone, but also by the environment, self-discipline, peers, and life experiences. Therefore, it becomes our bounden duty to ensure that every factor contributing to a child’s learning journey is meaningful, positive, and enriching. Education today must be dynamic, thoughtful, and learner-centered. It should inspire curiosity, creativity, confidence, and compassion in every student. In this changed scenario, the words of Rabindranath Tagore remain highly relevant, reminding us that true education goes beyond textbooks and helps children discover their inner strength, wisdom, and purpose in life.
